According to CHP, an Audi A6 was traveling in the No 3. southbound lane when it swerved to avoid a pedestrian in the roadway but was unsuccessful

Sacramento, CA.- One person was killed in a pedestrian accident that took place in Sacramento early Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Business 80 near American River at about 5:20 a.m. April 12.
According to CHP, an Audi A6 was traveling in the No 3. southbound lane when it swerved to avoid a pedestrian in the roadway but was unsuccessful.
The pedestrian was hit by the Audi and a Mazda CX-30 SUV traveling behind the Audi.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The roadway was shut down for nearly one hour as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
