A man was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a garbage truck traveling south on Quince Street

Escondido, CA.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Escondido on Tuesday morning, according to the authorities.
The incident was reported at around 5:40 a.m. September 16, on Quince Street and Norlak Avenue.
A man was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a garbage truck traveling south on Quince Street.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities reported that alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
