Santa Cruz, CA.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Santa Cruz early Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Highway 1 at Soquel Avenue at about 5 a.m. April 4.
The CHP reported that a 73-year-old man was walking on southbound Highway 1 when he was hit by a southbound vehicle driven by a 44-year-old woman.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash led to the temporary closure of all lanes of the highway at Soquel Avenue as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
