Police said a man was walking in the area outside of a marked crosswalk when they were hit by a Jeep traveling south on Crenshaw.
Torrance, CA. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday morning in Torrance.
According to the Torrance Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:25 a.m. on Crenshaw Boulevard near 235th Street.
Police said a man was walking in the area outside of a marked crosswalk when they were hit by a Jeep traveling south on Crenshaw.
Emergency personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The 70-year-old man driving the car was not injured. He stopped and remained at the scene.
Police officers closed both northbound and southbound lanes of Crenshaw Boulevard between 235th and 237th streets for about five hours during the investigation.
