Gilbert, AZ. – A pedestrian died, and another was hospitalized after they were struck by a vehicle Friday morning in the parking lot of the VA clinic in Gilbert.
Police said the incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. near Via Vista Drive and Market Street.
Two people were reportedly walking out of the clinic when one of them fell over. Both pedestrians were then hit by a passing car.
One of the persons, a military veteran, died at the scene.
The other victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
