According to the CHP report, a man is believed to have been crossing the highway from the right shoulder to the fast lane when he was hit by a southbound vehicle

Ventura, CA.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Ventura on Thursday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened on Highway 101 near State Route 33 shortly after 11:20 p.m. September 25.
According to the CHP report, a man is believed to have been crossing the highway from the right shoulder to the fast lane when he was hit by a southbound vehicle.
The man was found deceased at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigators.
DUI is not suspected to have been a factor in the crash, which remained under investigation.
