San Clemente, CA. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle early Monday morning near Camp Pendleton Fire Station 9 in San Clemente, the California Highway Patrol reported.

A Ford Mustang struck a pedestrian who was walking in the area under unclear circumstances.
The pedestrian died from injuries suffered in the crash.
Authorities responded to the scene and diverted all traffic on the southbound I-5 at Basilone Road following the accident.
