A 70-year-old man was trying to cross the northbound lanes of Highway 99 when he was hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe operated by a Eugene man in his 30s

Eugene, OR.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Eugene on Saturday night, according to the Eugene Police Department.
The incident took place at about 7:25 p.m. February 8, on Highway 99.
A 70-year-old man was trying to cross the northbound lanes of Highway 99 when he was hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe operated by a Eugene man in his 30s.
Authorities performed life-saving measures on the victim but the pedestrian died at the scene.
The Eugene Police Department is investigating the accident.
