San Jose, CA.- A pedestrian died days after being hit by a bicyclist in San Jose late last month, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The accident took place near Ocala Avenue and Berona Way at about 7 p.m. August 27.
A woman was walking west on Ocala Avenue when she was hit by a man riding a blue 16-speed Centurion bicycle westbound in the bike lane.
The woman was taken to a hospital with critical injuries and was pronounced deceased on Tuesday, September 2.
The bicyclist was arrested on suspicion of riding under the influence of drugs.
He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
The identities of the involved parties were not immediately released.
The incident is under investigation.
