, CA. – A died after being struck by at least one vehicle Wednesday evening on a highway in Antioch, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident occurred around 7:38 p.m. on eastbound Highway 4, just west of the Somersville Road on-ramp.

A male pedestrian was reportedly crossing the highway lanes when he was hit by at least one car.

The victim died from injuries sustained in the accident.

The County coroner responded to the scene.

Eastbound Highway 4 just west of Somersville Road was closed until around 9:40 p.m. following the collision.
