Pacoima, CA – A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle on Branford Street in Pacoima on Tuesday night, according to the authorities.
The incident took place at around 9 p.m. on July 7, near Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
According to investigators, the woman was attempting to cross Branford Street outside of a crosswalk with her boyfriend when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle. The accident reportedly occurred on dark section of the street.
The woman, identified as Jessica Flores, was declared deceased at the scene. Authorities reported that Flores was homeless. Her boyfriend was uninjured in the incident.
The driver of the involved vehicle, only identified as a 33-year-old man, remained at the scene. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
An investigation into the cause of the collision is still ongoing.
