Orange, CA – One person was killed in a collision involving multiple vehicles on the Ortega (57) Freeway on Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Shortly after 7:30 a.m. January 19, authorities responded to reports of a collision on the northbound freeway near Chapman Avenue.
As many as four vehicles were reportedly involved in the accident. Details on what led up to the wreck were not immediately established.
The California Highway Patrol and firefighters responded to the incident and one person was declared deceased following the crash. It's unclear whether the victim died at the scene or after being transported to a hospital.
Several lanes on the 57 Freeway were shut down following the accident. The California Highway Patrol is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
