Ontario, CA – One person sustained major injuries after being struck by a vehicle Saturday morning at an Ontario intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred near the intersection of W Mission Boulevard and Grand Avenue at 8:57 a.m. CHP officers and emergency crews arrived on the scene shortly after the incident was reported.
According to CHP, a vehicle collided with a pedestrian, a 30-year-old male, who was found lying in the roadway. The pedestrian was transported with major injuries to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle, a black GMC Yukon, remained at the scene. No arrests have been reported at this time.
CHP and emergency responders worked to manage traffic while assisting the injured pedestrian, including temporarily blocking lanes for safety and ambulance access.
The crash caused minor traffic disruptions in the area until lanes were reopened following the emergency response.
