According to CHP, two vehicles, including a pickup truck, were involved in the crash. The pickup truck overturned in the fast lane.
The San Diego County Fire Protection District responded to the scene and transported one person to Palomar Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
The firefighters took possession of a small dog that was in one of the cars.
About 50 feet of guardrail was damaged in the crash.
CHP officers are investigating the collision.
