Santa Barbara, CA. – One person was hospitalized after a big rig accident that happened Tuesday night on Highway 101 near Gaviota, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The wreck was reported around 10:40 p.m. about one-quarter mile north of Highway 1.

California Highway Patrol officers, Santa Barbara County firefighters, and American Medical Response responded to the scene.
The car driver sustained moderate injuries in the crash. The patient was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
The truck driver was unhurt.
Diesel fuel was leaking from the truck but firefighters were able to seal the leak.
Northbound Highway 101 was closed during the investigation, and while emergency crews were removing the vehicles from the scene.
