Authorities responded to the scene after they received reports of a large metal object blocking the HOV and the No. 1 lane.
The driver of a Subaru told the responders that the motorcycle and her car had hit a metal debris in the traffic lanes.
The rider was transported to Los Angeles General Medical Center for treatment of road rash to the knees and ribs.
Authorities are investigating the factors that led to the collision.
