A passenger of the Colorado was transported to Natividad Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries
Gonzales, CA. – 49-year-old Omar Arriaga from Salinas has been identified as the man who died in a car crash on Saturday morning near Gonzales in Monterey County.
The fatal collision was reported around 11:45 a.m. on Highway 101 at Gloria Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 16-year-old male from Salinas was driving a 2021 Chevrolet 2500 hauling a trailer southbound on Highway 101 when he hit a Chevrolet Colorado in front of him.
The collision caused the Chevy Colorado to roll over. The crash then caused a chain reaction involving three more cars.
Omar was driving the Chevy and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger of the Colorado was transported to Natividad Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
