, CA. – Minor injuries were reported in a car collision involving a police car that happened Tuesday morning in Oakland, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident occurred around 11:13 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 580 at the Park Boulevard off-ramp.

An Oakland Police Department vehicle collided with a civilian silver Acura MDX for an unknown reason.

It was not clear if the police car had its lights and siren activated at the time of the wreck.

Oakland firefighters responded to the scene and helped at least one person who suffered minor injuries. The report did not mention if the patient was a police officer or an occupant in the civilian vehicle.
