Bakersfield, CA. – The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified the couple killed in a car crash on Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 11:44 a.m. at Highway 65 and Famoso Road.
76-year-old Napoleon Frayna Grande was driving a 2016 Honda Fit eastbound on Famoso Road when he collided with a 2014 Freightliner tractor-trailer traveling southbound on Highway 65.
The impact sent both vehicles off the roadway, where the big rig overturned.
Napoleon Frayna Grande and his wife, 66-year-old Susan Julian Grande, both residents of Daly City, were killed in the accident.
The driver of the big rig was taken to Kern Medical Hospital.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
