Santa Barbara, CA. – One person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision that happened Friday morning at an intersection in Santa Barbara.

According to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, the incident took place around 11 a.m. on Montecito Street near Rancheria Street.

The collision involved three vehicles, including a compact SUV and a pickup truck.

According to investigators, the SUV was heading westbound on Montecito Street when it rear-ended the pickup truck. A third vehicle was also involved in the crash.

The SUV driver was transported by AMR to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with unspecified injuries.

No other person was injured.

The SUV’s engine compartment caught fire after the crash. The fire was quickly extinguished by responding firefighters.

The third car acquired minor damage in the crash.

The Santa Barbara Police Department is investigating the collision.
