Phelan, CA.- A motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a vehicle in Phelan on Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident happened at about 1:27 p.m. April 24, in the 3700 block of Phelan Road, near Lebec Road.

According to the CHP, a 2018 Harley-Davidson Street Glide was traveling westbound on Phelan Road when it tried to overtake a westbound black Honda Civic that was trying to turn left onto Lebec Road.

The motorcyclist crashed into the driver's side of a Honda.

The motorcyclist was rushed to St. Mary's Medical Center in with critical injuries.

The driver of the SUV was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both directions of Phelan Road were shut down as authorities investigated the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
