Morena, CA – A man is dead after being hit by a train in the Morena area on Sunday night, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The collision took place near Morena Boulevard and Knoxville Street at around 9:24 p.m. May 3.
According to deputies, a person was hit by an Amtrak train on the tracks that run along Morena Boulevard. The circumstances under which the incident happened were yet to be established.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased following the collision. The victim’s age, name, or gender were not immediately released.
The occupants of the train did not report any injuries in the incident.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene and were working to establish the cause of the accident. The investigation is still ongoing.
