Investigators reveal that a Chevrolet Silverado truck was traveling southbound on Highway 23 in the center median when it lost control and drifted into the northbound lanes
Moorpark, CA – Two people were killed in a head-on collision that took place in Moorpark on Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on Highway 23 near Los Angeles Avenue shortly after 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 28.
Investigators reveal that a Chevrolet Silverado truck was traveling southbound on Highway 23 in the center median when it lost control and drifted into the northbound lanes. The truck crashed head-on with an oncoming Lexus ES 350.
A passenger in the Chevrolet was ejected from the vehicle. She was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Lexus also died in the accident. The names of the deceased victims were not released but authorities reported that both were women from Los Angeles County.
Medics transported two people to a hospital with major injuries. A third patient was being treated for minor injuries.
The California Highway Patrol assisted the involved parties along with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and the Ventura County Fire Department.
Highway 23 was temporarily shut down as authorities investigated and cleared the scene. The California Highway Patrol is handling the ongoing investigation.
