Monique Morton, Two Horses Killed in Anza Pedestrian Accident on Hwy 371

Anza, CA – A woman and two horses were killed Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle in Anza, according to the CHP.

The deadly accident happened around 9:00 p.m. on August 31 on the westbound Highway 371.

CHP said a 70-year-old woman was driving when she struck two women who were riding their horses.

One of the women, 47-year-old Monique Morton of Anza, was killed in the accident.

The other woman, a 34-year-old from Temecula, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Both horses were also killed in the accident.

The driver of the car was not arrested.

Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the accident.

The CHP is investigating the accident.
