Modesto, CA – 2nd Driver Killed in June Car Accident on Ladd Road near Tully Road Identified

Modesto, CA – The second driver who died in a multi-car collision that happened in Modesto last month has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office as Sean Crisp, 57, of Modesto.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the wreck took place on Ladd Road east of Tully Road on Saturday, June 27.

Investigations revealed that Crisp was driving a green 2026 Porsche coupe westbound on Ladd Road at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the rear of a black 2016 Ram pickup.

The pickup overturned following the crash while the Porsche moved into the eastbound side, where it collided head-on with an oncoming white 2023 Mercedes SUV. The Porsche then burst into flames after the accident.

Crisp was declared deceased at the scene of the crash.

Another person involved in the accident, identified as Jon Burgess, 38, of Manteca, was taken to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, where he was declared deceased the following day.

The driver of the Mercedes, Diana Ybarra, 52, of Oakdale, and her passenger, Manuel Ybarra, 53, also of Oakdale, were both taken to local hospitals with major injuries.

The Ram was driven by Ismael Gonzalez, 27, of Manteca, who had five passengers only identified as two women aged 42 and 26, and three girls aged 16, 14, and 2. The occupants of the Ram had minor or no injuries.

Authorities are still investigating to determine the exact cause of the deadly incident.
