Mission Valley, CA – A motorcyclist was hurt when he collided with a car that turned in front of him near a shopping center in Mission Valley on Friday night.
According to the San Diego Police Department, officers received a report on the incident at around 8:40 p.m. December 20, in the 3700 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.
Police said a 33-year-old man was riding a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard while a 49-year-old man in a 2014 Nissan Sentra was heading west.
The Nissan driver tried to make an illegal left turn into a shopping center, causing the motorcyclist to strike the passenger side of the Nissan.
The SDPD officers and firefighters responded shortly after to the scene and performed CPR on the motorcyclist. The rider was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries including brain bleed and multiple facial lacerations.
The identities of the parties involved in the collision were not released.
Police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have played a role in the incident. The SDPD Traffic Division is investigating the accident.
