, CA – The authorities have released the name of the person who was killed in a head-on crash that left two other people injured in Spring Valley on Saturday night.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Miriam Nelly Valles, a 50-year-old resident.

Valles was a passenger of an SUV that collided head-on with another vehicle at around 8:54 p.m. on October 18 on Jamacha Road near Darby Street.

Valles was rushed to Scripps Mercy Hospital where she was pronounced dead at about 10:32 p.m. the same day.

San Diego, CA – One person was killed in a car crash that left two others injured in Spring Valley on Saturday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 8:54 p.m. on Jamacha Road near Darby Street.

A 48-year-old Spring Valley man was driving a Toyota Camry east on Jamacha Road when he crossed the concrete center divider and collided head-on with a Nissan Rogue operated by a 50-year-old El Cajon man.

First responders had to free at least two people trapped in one of the vehicles.

Everyone involved was taken to area hospitals with major injuries, where the 50-year-old female passenger of the SUV later died.

A child in the backseat of the Camry was taken to Rady's Children's Hospital for precautionary measures.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
