The crash occurred around 9:58 p.m. Tuesday on Lincoln Boulevard at the eastbound entrance to the Marina (90) Freeway.
Marina del Rey, CA – Authorities have identified the 58-year-old pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a vehicle near a freeway entrance in Marina del Rey Tuesday night.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Rance Turner.
The crash occurred around 9:58 p.m. Tuesday on Lincoln Boulevard at the eastbound entrance to the Marina (90) Freeway.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a vehicle was traveling southbound when it struck the pedestrian, who was walking in the third traffic lane.
The impact threw the pedestrian southwest onto the roadway, where he suffered fatal blunt force trauma. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.
The LAPD said the victim was not homeless. No information was provided about other injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal Marina del Rey crash remain under investigation.
