According to CHP, Cardiel was riding a bicycle northbound near the east shoulder of Weedpatch Highway when he was struck from behind by a vehicle

Bakersfield, CA.- The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified a rider who was killed in a Bakersfield bicycle crash on October 26.
Marcio Cardiel, 32, of Bakersfield, was the victim of the crash that involved a hit-and-run driver.
Authorities responded to the incident at around 9:40 p.m. on Weedpatch Highway, north of Muller Road.
According to CHP, Cardiel was riding a bicycle northbound near the east shoulder of Weedpatch Highway when he was struck from behind by a vehicle.
The impact ejected Cardiel onto the east dirt shoulder of the highway.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the involved vehicle left the scene before authorities arrived.
There was no description of the suspect or vehicle involved in the collision.
