Two people were extricated from their cars and were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries

Manteca, CA. – Two people were seriously injured in a head-on collision on Friday afternoon in Manteca.
According to the Manteca Police Department, the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. in the area of South Union Road between Liggett Court and Marrion Street.
A Chevrolet Corvette and Nissan Rouge were traveling southbound when they collided in unclear circumstances.
The impact sent the Corvette into the northbound lane where it collided head-on with a Toyota Camry.
A 33-year-old man from Manteca driving the Corvette and a 67-year-old woman from Manteca driving the Camry were extricated from their cars and were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries.
A 49-year-old man driving the Nissan and his passenger were unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
CHP is investigating the accident.
