The fatal incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. near Airport Drive, north of State Road, just beneath the Golden State Highway overpass.

Oildale, CA. – A man identified as Eric Raymond Truman was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning while crossing a street in Oildale, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
The fatal incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. near Airport Drive, north of State Road, just beneath the Golden State Highway overpass.
Responding crews found Truman lying in the roadway suffering from severe injuries.
Emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but Truman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the driver was traveling northbound on Airport Drive when the 43-year-old man reportedly ran into the roadway.
Drugs and alcohol were not considered to be factors in the crash.
