Victorville, Calif. – A male motorcycle rider was seriously injured in a crash Monday afternoon on Mariposa Road in Victorville.
The Victorville Police Department responded to the incident at around 2:30 p.m. on Mariposa Road just north of Monarch Boulevard near America’s Tire.
For still unknown reasons, a black and green colored sports motorcycle collided with a Honda sedan operated by a female.
The rider sustained severe injuries in the accident.
Victorville City Firefighters arrived at the scene and requested a helicopter.
The victim was transported by ground ambulance and subsequently airlifted by Mercy Air Helicopter to an out-of-area trauma center.
The driver involved was not injured stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
Mariposa Road was temporarily closed in both directions.
An investigation to determine the events leading up to the collision is underway.
