An eastbound 2017 Hyundai Tucson hit the pedestrian, who suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, CHP said.
Jamul, CA. — A 55-year-old El Cajon man was fatally struck by an SUV early Thursday morning on State Route 94 near Hillside Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 4:15 a.m. as the man was crossing a dark stretch of the roadway.
An eastbound 2017 Hyundai Tucson hit the pedestrian, who suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, CHP said.
Authorities have not released the victim’s name pending notification of his family.
CHP officials said intoxication is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
