Okanogan, WA.– A man was injured in a car accident near Okanogan on Sunday evening, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The accident was reported just after 6:10 p.m. on State Route 20 near milepost 219.
A man was driving his vehicle on SR 20 when he lost control and slammed into a tree.
The vehicle swerved and came to a rest in the opposite lane.
The driver sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The WSP reported that impairment was suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The accident is under investigation.
