Man Hit and Severely Injured by Tesla in Carmel Valley, San Diego

According to the Police Department, the accident was reported around 8:45 p.m. on Heights Road at Lansdale Drive.

32-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured in San Diego Pedestrian Crash on Del Mar Heights Rd and Lansdale Dr

San Diego, CA. – A 32-year-old was severely injured after being hit by a Tesla Saturday night at an intersection in San Diego's Valley area.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident was reported around 8:45 p.m. on Del Mar Heights Road at Lansdale Drive.

An 18-year-old woman was driving a Tesla Model 3 heading westbound just after encountering a green light when a 32-year-old man reportedly ran into the intersection from the northeast corner and directly into the path of the car.

The driver was unable to avoid a collision.

Emergency personnel responded and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, including a skull fracture, multiple facial fractures, a collapsed lung, and acute respiratory failure.

No other details were given, but SDPD's Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
