On Thursday, Chico police said Moodie died from the injuries he sustained in a pedestrian crash that happened on July 24 near Park Avenue and East 12th Street.

Chico, CA. – 69-year-old Frankie Moodie died of injuries he sustained a month ago in a pedestrian accident that happened at an intersection in Chico.

On Thursday, Chico police said Moodie died from the injuries he sustained in a pedestrian crash that happened on July 24 near Park Avenue and East 12th Street.

Moodie was in a motorized wheelchair, crossing the street, when he was hit by a car driven by Jennifer Jackson.

Emergency personnel transported Moodie to the hospital with critical injuries.

The victim has died from the injuries, authorities said.

Police said Jackson had run a red light and sideswiped a stopped vehicle just before she hit Moodie.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that a cell phone was a contributing factor.
