Investigations revealed that a 32-year-old Fresno man was driving a Freightliner east on Highway 152 when the rig experienced an engine problem and bacame disabled in the roadway

Madera County, CA – Two people were killed in a collision with a disabled big Rig in Madera County early Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Highway 152 east of Road 14 1/2 shortly before 2 a.m. on July 18.
Investigations revealed that a 32-year-old Fresno man was driving a Freightliner east on Highway 152 when the rig experienced an engine problem and bacame disabled in the roadway.
An eastbound black Honda Clarity then crashed into the back of the disabled big rig and became pinned underneath the big rig’s trailer.
The driver of the Honda, Samantha Xiongnhiathao, 30, of Fresno, and her passenger, Gisselle Diaz, 17, also of Fresno, were both killed in the accident.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
