The mishap happened at around 10:39 p.m. January 9 on the southbound Interstate 5 just north of Poinsettia Lane.
Carlsbad, CA – The San Diego County Coroner's Office has identified a woman killed in last week Thursday night crash on 5 Freeway in Carlsbad as 63-year-old Luz Maria Sandoval.
The mishap happened at around 10:39 p.m. January 9 on the southbound Interstate 5 just north of Poinsettia Lane.
Reports revealed the decedent's Dodge van became disabled while traveling southbound on 5 freeway.
Sandoval's son exited the vehicle, pushed it along the freeway, and jumped out of the way prior to a Ford SUV colliding with the rear of the van.
Sandoval was pronounced dead at the scene.
More details about the crash were not provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
