38-year-old Luis Manuel Galvez Nido, of Bakersfield, died in the collision that happened on Highway 58, east of Bussell Road at about 5:42 a.m. October 28

Bakersfield, CA.- The man who was killed in a head-on collision in Bakersfield on Tuesday morning has been identified by the Kern County Coroner's Office.
38-year-old Luis Manuel Galvez Nido, of Bakersfield, died in the collision that happened on Highway 58, east of Bussell Road at about 5:42 a.m. October 28.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Nido was driving a Jeep west in the eastbound lanes of Highway 58 when he collided head-on with an eastbound Chrysler driven by a 50-year-old Arizona woman.
Nido was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
The Arizona driver was transported to Kern Medical for treatment of her injuries.
According to CHP, drugs and alcohol were not suspected to have played a role in the accident.
The incident is under investigation.
