Lubbock County, TX – A 45-year-old Brownfield man was killed following a crash involving a semi-trailer on US Highway 62 Tuesday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Preliminary investigation findings indicate a semi-trailer operated by a 74-year-old man from Lubbock was traveling southwest on US 62 when the driver attempted to use a crossover to head northeast on the same highway. During the maneuver, the semi-trailer stalled in the northeast-bound lanes. As a result, a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Rolan Tomlison struck the front right portion of the trailer and became lodged beneath the rear of the truck.
Tomlison was pronounced dead at the scene. No additional injuries were reported in connection with the Lubbock County crash, and no arrests have been announced.
Authorities have not indicated any contributing factors to the crash as the investigation remains ongoing.
