Los Angeles, CA – A pedestrian died, and another was critically hurt after they were struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning at an intersection in the Pico-Union area of Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the accident occurred around 1:20 a.m. in the area of Venice Boulevard and South Oak Street.

Two pedestrians were hit by a vehicle in the area under unclear circumstances.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced one of the victims dead at the scene.

The other pedestrian was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.

The driver involved stopped and remained at the scene.
