Los Angeles, CA – A pedestrian died when they were hit by a vehicle in Los Angeles early Friday morning, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.

At around 3:59 a.m. September 4, authorities responded to reports of a collision on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway near the Harbor (110) Freeway interchange.

Initial reports indicate that a pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck in the westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway.

The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, was killed in the crash.

The driver of the involved truck remained at the scene.

At least two westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway were temporarily shut down following the accident.

No further details were immediately available.

The cause of the collision remained under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
