Los Angeles, CA – An investigation is underway into an incident where a driver crashed into parked vehicles, injuring four people in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday night.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, authorities responded at around 10:30 p.m. February 24, to the crash near 7th and Hope streets.
The LAPD reported that a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it drifted across the road and crashed into two parked vehicles.
Two people were sleeping in one of the parked cars that were hit.
Paramedics arrived shortly after and evaluated at least four people injured in the accident.
Two patients were transported by ambulance to a hospital with serious injuries. They were only identified as women in their 30s.
A third patient, identified as a woman in her 40s, was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities believe the woman was hit by one of the cars.
The was no update on the condition of the fourth patient and it’s unclear whether the driver who crashed into the parked cars was also hurt.
Debris from the crash was scattered at the scene after the incident.
No further details on the crash were immediately available. The Los Angeles Police Department is working to determine the cause of the collision.
