Los Angeles, CA – Two people died when a car and a semi-truck collided Friday night on the 210 Freeway in Sunland, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

The wreck was reported around 9:53 p.m. on April 3 in the eastbound lanes of the 210 Freeway at Sunland Boulevard.

A passenger car and a big rig were involved in the Sunland accident.

Responding Los Angeles Fire Department personnel found a 35-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man trapped inside the passenger vehicle. The victims were extricated and pronounced dead at the scene without medical assistance.

The 43-year-old man driving the semi-truck declined hospitalization.

All the eastbound lanes of the freeway remained closed during the rescue operation.
