Longview, WA – The Washington State Patrol is investigating a solo vehicle collision that claimed the lives of two Kelso residents on Sunday night in Longview.
Authorities received reports of the incident at around 4:51 p.m. January 18, on State Route 432 near Memorial Park Drive.
According to WSP, a white 2008 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling west on SR 432 when it failed to negotiate a curve and drifted off the roadway. The Malibu came to a rest on its top in the slough.
The crash left the driver and a passenger deceased at the scene of the crash. The Washington State Patrol identified the driver as John D. Rodriguez, 58, and the passenger Anthony S. Evans, 28, both from Kelso.
It was undetermined whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the crash but the WSP reported that speed was likely a factor.
Additional details about the deadly accident have not been released. The Washington State Patrol continues to investigate to ascertain the circumstances of the crash.
