Long Beach, CA – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on the Artesia (91) Freeway in Long Beach on Wednesday night.
According to California Highway Patrol logs, the accident occurred west of the Long Beach (710) Freeway at about 10:19 p.m. on September 23.
The investigators found that a burgundy Honda and a black Tesla were involved in the accident in the eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway. Two other vehicles were believed to have been caught up in the pile-up.
Preliminary reports also indicate that a person may have been in the middle of the roadway.
One person died in the crash. It’s unclear whether the victim was a pedestrian or a vehicle occupant.
The eastbound lanes of the Artesia Freeway were shut down for over three hours following the accident.
No other details were immediately available. The cause of the accident remained under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
