Littlerock, CA – The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the identity of a second person who died in a head-on collision that killed three other people in Littlerock.
The Medical Examiner identified the victim as 22-year-old Bryan Vargas. Vargas was a passenger in the Infiniti G35 involved in the crash. Previously, officials identified the driver of the Infiniti as 23-year-old Byron Herrera Lorenzana.
The deadly collision occurred at approximately 6:39 p.m. on Friday, May 8, near 77th Street East and Mt. Emma Road, south of Pearblossom Highway.
According to preliminary reports, an Infiniti G35 sedan was traveling eastbound on Mt. Emma Road when it drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a westbound white Honda Pilot SUV. Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage in the crash.
The California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the collision.
Lorenzana and Vargas, who were both occupants of the Infiniti, were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators stated that neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
The driver and passenger of the Honda Pilot were transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster, where both later died from their injuries. Their identities have not yet been released.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
