Authorities Investigating Downtown Los Angeles Crash that Left Motorcycle Officer Hurt

Los Angeles, CA. – A Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer was injured late Monday night after colliding with an SUV in downtown Los Angeles, authorities reported.

The crash occurred shortly after 11 p.m. near Temple and Los Angeles streets, close to the LAPD Metropolitan Detention Center.

Video from the scene showed the officer’s motorcycle downed after striking the front passenger side of a white BMW SUV.

Paramedics treated the officer at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

The woman driving the BMW remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

It is unclear what led to the collision.

The LAPD is investigating the cause of the crash.
