Lake Elsinore, CA – A tragic collision involving multiple vehicles claimed the life of one of the drivers and seriously injured two other people on Sunday night in Lake Elsinore.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the wreck occurred in the area near Highway 74 and Trellis Lane at around 9:33 p.m. March 15.
Investigations reveal that three vehicles collided at the intersection east of Interstate 15. Authorities are still trying to figure out what led up to the crash.
Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and emergency personnel immediately responded to the site of the collision and they located three drivers with major injuries.
The three motorists were rushed to local hospitals and one of them was later declared dead at the hospital. The other two drivers were hospitalized with critical injuries.
The authorities have not released the identy of the deceased driver pending notification of family.
Whether speed or impaired driving played a role in the collision was not confirmed and so far, no arrests have been announced.
