16-Year-Old Boy Dies, Kevin Dahl Arrested After Pedestrian Crash at Los Coyotes Diagonal and Deborah Street in Long Beach

Long Beach, California (September 5, 2021) – Kevin Chris Dahl, 33, of Lakewood, was arrested following a traffic crash that killed a teenage pedestrian Saturday night in a Long Beach intersection, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The deadly accident occurred at about 9:07 p.m. Saturday, September 4, at the intersection of Los Coyotes Diagonal and Deborah Street.
Police said the 16-year-old Long Beach boy was crossing the street inside a marked crosswalk when, for unknown reasons, he was struck by a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker that was heading southbound on Los Coyotes Diagonal, driven by Dahl.
Boy Dies in Long Beach Pedestrian Crash
The boy was declared dead at the scene, despite life-saving measures performed by emergency personnel. His name has not been disclosed pending family notification.
Dahl was arrested and booked for one count of gross vehicular manslaughter and one count of driving under the influence. His bail was set at $100,000.
